Illustrations are a major cost factor for publishing children's picture books. However, we have addressed this issue and found some very talented students who are looking to build their portfolios. We match them with authors who want to get published, and "voila" it is a mutually beneficial match. We do not ask the students to work for free and depending on their workloads and motivation-hunger, their prices typically range from $75 to $150 per illustration. Most importantly, we force them to give up all rights, which, as you may know, is another sticking point when working with illustrators.
