Brooks’ Reply
is teenage murder
mystery that pushes you into a nefarious world plagued by
suspense, torment and death. Author Renee Marlow spins a
page-turning psychological thriller that slowly unravels and
keeps you guessing all the way through…
Kimberly arrives home to find
her mother hanging from a kitchen beam. The tragedy, coupled
with a history of mental instability, casts doubt on Kimberly’s
mental state. Her father invites her Aunt Chloe and Cousin Mark
to live with them; meanwhile, Kimberly comforts herself with
“Freddy the Pig” novels written by Walter R. Brooks. She finds
out that Brooks is dead, so she writes a “Freddy” type story of
her own—which becomes a school play.
Ross, a classmate and former
child star, is cast as Freddy. Ross’s friend, Steve, claims that
Ross is crazy, and warns Kim. When Mark is found dead in
Kimberly’s backyard, she is afraid she committed the murder and
cannot remember it. A police investigation ensues and an old
detective doggedly follows Kim, taking endless notes... Did
Kimberly kill Mark? Is Ross really crazy, or is Steve lying to
cover up his own tragic problems? Whatever happened to Aunt
Chloe? And who is that mysterious detective? Keep reading—you’ll
see!
