Meet the Author

          

David Druhan is a retired pediatrician. Growing up in Mobile, Alabama, he graduated from the Medical College of Alabama in Birmingham. After training at the Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, he practiced pediatrics for three years in the Army, then nearly 40 years in Opelika, Alabama. He is the father of five and the grandfather of nine.

What is a wave? Not the kind you motion with your hand, but the kind that swirls in the sea or the ocean or the lake.

Davy starts out as a little lap around Momma Dock at the top of Big Bay. Upon becoming a wave, he rolls down the bay and toward many adventures. He splashes waders, saves a drowning boy, meets lovely Sally the Sailboat, gives rides to porpoises and surfers, gets caught in a hurricane, aids a floundering ship, and then rolls ashore on a lovely beach, where he rests in the calm waters until more escapades come his way.

Davy Wave is a bedtime story meant to send children to sleep feeling safe and protected. It’s a short story about a little lap that becomes a real wave and then sets off on his journey. This charming and imaginative tale is happy, fun-filled, adventurous, and will captivate children as it sends them off to soothing dreamland.

This book is print-on-demand – the books are printed when they are ordered. Please allow for both PRINTING and SHIPPING time when ordering. In the continental US and Canada please allow approximately 2 weeks for your order to arrive – Alaska and Hawaii may take an additional week. Orders for the UK and Europe please allow 2 to 3 weeks for your order to arrive. All other international orders may take up to 10 weeks for delivery. Note it is possible for the order to arrive earlier or later than the time frames given depending on the order destination.
