Meet the Author

Nancy Tate lives in Tucson, Arizona, having moved from her home state of Maine in 1995.  She has published a first book, The Menorah, has written poetry, short stories and is presently at work on a new novel. In 1997, Tate created the first of three CDs, “Dance of Remembrance,” a meditative collection of poetry set to music, followed by the CDs “Tom on the Other Side,” and “Atomic Oneness.” In 2002, Tate created a spiritual Website , which has reached well over four million readers. Tate is the mother of two daughters and eight grandchildren.  They fill her with enthusiasm to write books and stories for youth.

Author Nancy Tate’s new book, Grandmother Ellie’s Attic, reveals the magic one little girl experiences as she plays dress up in her grandmother’s attic. As each costume takes her to a different place, she learns more about her mother and gains the magical wisdom the trunk also holds.

After the death of her mother, ten-year-old Beatrice goes to live with her Grandmother Ellie. One night, at the stroke of midnight, she wakes to find a genie named Sidney beside her bed. A whole new world of magic opens up for Beatrice as Sidney leads her on twelve whimsical, heartwarming, monthly adventures in which Beatrice wears the costumes and assumes the identity of characters, the same characters that her mother played onstage. Some of the stories take place in far off lands, and some not so far off. Each one brings a new, deeper spiritual understanding to Beatrice's life.

In the continental US and Canada please allow approximately 2 weeks for your order to arrive – Alaska and Hawaii may take an additional week. Orders for the UK and Europe please allow 2 to 3 weeks for your order to arrive. All other international orders may take up to 10 weeks for delivery. Note it is possible for the order to arrive earlier or later than the time frames given depending on the order destination.
