Meet the Author

Deborah K. Morris lives in Dorsey, Illinois, with her husband, Kevin, daughter, Sarah, and son, Douglas, who is the illustrator for this book. The author taught preschool for 12 years, which helped her gain more insight into child/parent relationships. It is her hope that hearts will be touched, minds will be opened and relationships built, as the family grows in love and understanding of each other.

Here I Am…Look At Me! shows parents that their children can teach them something about life. All they have to do is pay attention.

In the hectic morning rush to beat traffic, cook breakfast, and make sure their child is groomed and properly dressed for school, a parent often neglects the subject of all this fuss… their child! “Mom, you oughtn’t just look to see if my shirt is tucked in,” says the child, “or if my jeans have a rip in the knee. It doesn’t matter— Here I am…Look at me!” It is at our busiest, most frantic moments that this advice is best taken to heart. ‘Don’t sweat the little things. Pay attention to what’s truly important.’ A child knows this best. So no matter how stressed or pressed for time, a parent should stop and remember the important reason why they are juggling all these things. Give your child their deserved attention; they could teach you something. Maybe even a lesson as important as this one!

This book is print-on-demand – the books are printed when they are ordered. Please allow for both PRINTING and SHIPPING time when ordering. In the continental US and Canada please allow approximately 2 weeks for your order to arrive – Alaska and Hawaii may take an additional week. Orders for the UK and Europe please allow 2 to 3 weeks for your order to arrive. All other international orders may take up to 10 weeks for delivery. Note it is possible for the order to arrive earlier or later than the time frames given depending on the order destination.
