Abused Woman Struggles to Free Herself from Jehovah’s Witness Community in Novel Based on Real-Life Story. 

Based on true events, the novel No Part of Their World tells the story of young woman raised in the Jehovah’s Witness religion and her remarkable journey through abuse and loss to love and renewal. 

It is the stuff of nightmares—being trapped, in danger, stripped of dignity.  Add to that a religion that justifies such treatment and a family ready to reject anyone who protests and it is no longer a nightmare: it is Sarah Garcia’s reality. 

As a young woman, Sarah obeyed all the rules of her Jehovah’s Witness community and married a prominent man.  This man became her tormentor, abusing her mentally, physically and sexually throughout their marriage in the belief that he had the scriptural authority to do so. And when Sarah looked for help, the community, including her parents, turned their backs on her. 

But Sarah was determined to make a better life for herself and her two-year old daughter.  With the help of a beloved grandmother who risks her own position in the congregation to come to her aid, Sarah fights to change her reality in No Part of Their World.
