Meet the Author



Jannifer Powelson lives in Princeton, Illinois, and has been writing children’s books since 2003. The first book in her series was Rachel and Sammy Visit the Prairie. Her next will be Rachel and Sammy Learn About Trees. The author wrote her master’s thesis on raccoons and now works as a conservationist.

Rachel and Sammy Visit the Forest is the second in the Rachel Raccoon and Sammy Skunk series. This beautifully illustrated book will help children learn about 15 common spring woodland wildflowers.

This fun story can also be used as a junior field guide to aid students in identifying the plants in the story, as each plant in the book features realistic illustrations and colorful photographs. The photos were taken by the author and will help readers learn more about the great variety of wildflowers.

This book is print-on-demand – the books are printed when they are ordered. Please allow for both PRINTING and SHIPPING time when ordering. In the continental US and Canada please allow approximately 2 weeks for your order to arrive – Alaska and Hawaii may take an additional week. Orders for the UK and Europe please allow 2 to 3 weeks for your order to arrive. All other international orders may take up to 10 weeks for delivery. Note it is possible for the order to arrive earlier or later than the time frames given depending on the order destination.
