Following her desire to move to the historic island of Crete, author Freida Olivia Richards finds herself facing unimagined obstacles, yet enjoying the wonders of the island. 

With her husband and a plethora of animals, Richards settled on Crete, quickly discovering the plight of the many abandoned and abused animals in the area. Feeling the plight of those poor animals could not be ignored, they opened an animal sanctuary through which hundreds of dogs and cats have been re-homed with the help of three German organizations.          

Tails Are Wagging on Crete not only chronicles the troubles of the many animals that have been rescued, it also provides the history of Crete and the Cretan people, giving insight into past and current attitudes about animals. This unique combination of history and animal plight awareness is a pure informative treat.

About the Author

Freida Olivia Richards lives in an isolated area near the small town of Kalives with her husband and pets. Her careers as a nurse and social worker paved the way for her work with animals. In addition to caring for abandoned animals, Richards and her husband now run a small cat and dog hotel. Richards is busy at work on a collection of ghost and mystery stories.
