Meet the Author



First-time author Maggi Miller is an educator who lives with her family in Austin, Texas. “I’m fascinated with how children acquire language, and how terrifically clever they all are as they learn new words. One of our daughters would not call her father, ‘Dad’ but called him by his name instead.”

But in the funny new book The Baby Who Wouldn't Say, “Mama”, you will meet an infant who is so stubborn that it will say everything to get what it wants, except for “Mama.” The baby asks for food and hugs and toys, calls out animals by name, and even asks for a push on the swing, but refuses to utter the one word Mama is just waiting to hear.

But sooner or later in every baby’s life, it needs its Mama more than anything else, and out comes that most important word it knows for seeking comfort and love: “Mama!”

This book is print-on-demand – the books are printed when they are ordered. Please allow for both PRINTING and SHIPPING time when ordering. In the continental US and Canada please allow approximately 2 weeks for your order to arrive – Alaska and Hawaii may take an additional week. Orders for the UK and Europe please allow 2 to 3 weeks for your order to arrive. All other international orders may take up to 10 weeks for delivery. Note it is possible for the order to arrive earlier or later than the time frames given depending on the order destination.
