Meet the Author

First-time author Joyce Van Kirk created her friendly cast of forest creatures based on her six grandchildren, Matthew, Jayson, Amanda, Alexis, Julie and Eric. She is currently working on her next children’s book, Matty the Squirrel. She lives with her husband, Chuck, in Philadelphia.

 

 

 

All You Need Are Friends

This fun story about friendship takes on a life of its own when animals in the forest begin a search that can only succeed with a little help from some friends. 

Matty is a young squirrel who must learn how to take care of himself when his parents disappear. Alone and afraid, Matty makes some new friends in the forest after he helps the creatures out. In return, they decide to help him find his family.

With his new friends, Jay the bluebird, Manda the rabbit and Lexi the doe, Matty begins the search for his parents. On his adventure, Matty makes even more new friends, Julie the skunk and Eric the snake, and learns some valuable lessons about friendship along the way
