Meet the Author

Author R. M. Skillen lives with his family in Melbourne, Australia, and is currently working on his next children’s book. He wrote The Three Wise Men after his daughter came home from school with a strange story about one of the children in her class. “I told her that you shouldn’t believe everything that you hear and that you should always get to know someone before you judge them.”
 

What’s the Truth?

This wonderfully illustrated children’s folktale tries to sort fact from fiction.

After three wise men come across a man with a bad reputation, they each try to outdo each other telling how fearsome he is. The more stories the men tell, the scarier and more fierce the man becomes.

Each account is more exaggerated than the one before it, until the three storytellers cannot agree what the truth really is. When they are overheard debating their stories, the so-called wise men learn a lesson they will never forget.

The Three Wise Men is told in the tradition of Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rhymes, and is a most entertaining read for children ages 8 to 12.
