What’s the
Truth?
This wonderfully illustrated children’s
folktale
tries to sort fact from fiction.
After three wise men come across a man
with a bad reputation, they each try to outdo each other telling how
fearsome he is. The more stories the men tell, the scarier and more
fierce the man becomes.
Each account is more
exaggerated than the one before it, until the three storytellers cannot
agree what the truth really is. When they are overheard debating their
stories, the so-called wise men learn a lesson they will never forget.
The Three Wise Men
is told in the tradition of Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rhymes, and is
a most entertaining read for children ages 8 to 12.
