Through
the Crosshairs of a Scope: The Cold War Up Close and Personal
is an account of beating the odds.
First-time
author Bill Anthony lived the cold war as part of a special ops
team. His experiences as a Navy sharpshooter form the basis of
this fictionalized novel.
From 1964 through 1966, a
life-long bond was formed between soldiers of this special ops
team, who were all exceptional marksmen. Although many went into
the operation not expecting to survive, the team defied the odds
and all returned safely.
From Texas to Florida to
Iceland, meet these men who fought for the United States without
recognition. They simply did their job the best way they could.
Upon their return, their strong bond of friendship forged in
adversity has withstood the test of time.
Anthony says, “We never talk
about what we did. The past is hard enough to deal with on its
own and we all see no sense in bringing it up in our
conversations. In writing it down, it may hopefully bring some
acknowledgement to a group of men who did what was asked and did
it well for no recognition.”
